It is the third time we are marking October 11, the Internaitonal Girl Child Day.

This year we participated in a press conference devoted to the Day, at the Blitz Info press club. Also we attended the premiere of puppet show "Ne's Journey" in Gavar, at the Educational Center of Gegharkunik Diocese.

Mr. Garik Hayrapetyan, UNFPA Armenia Assistant Representative, and Ms. Anna Safaryan, Chief Advisor to Ombudsman, were the speakers at the press conference. During the press conference, we distributed copies of the statement by Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, UNFPA Executive Director, as well as a special issue of the "Woman and Politics" insert devoted to the Girl Child Day.

But, of course, the greatest fun was our visit to Gavar Education Center and our acquaintence with Father Gnel Martirosyan, and teachers and students there. We went there to attend the premiere of "Ne's Journey", a puppet show performance prepared by UNIMA-Armenia, the Armenian Center of the International Puppeteers with UNFPA Armenia Support. If you don't know who is Ne, well ... you should learn who is Ne.
