Sexual and reproductive health (SRH) is an essential component of the universal right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ICPD Programme of Action and in other international human rights conventions, declarations, and consensus agreements. UNFPA, together with a wide range of partners, works toward the goal of universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, which is also a human development issue that states strive to fulfill.
