In Armenia there are around 1.32 million women and girls of reproductive age (15 and above).

Every one in six women of reproductive age suffers from infertility (16.8% - almost 220 thousand women), which is higher than the critical level set by the World Health Organization (15%).

Every year about 385 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and more than 200 die from the disease. In our country, cervical cancer ranks as the third most frequent cancer among Armenian women, and in the structure of malignant neoplasm of women’s reproductive system cervical cancer is on the second place after breast cancer among women between 15 and 44 years of age.

To support reproductive health in the country UNFPA is implementing "Strengthening Sexual and Reproductive Health" Project in Armenia.
