This year UNFPA, together with its partner, Gyumri Youth Initiative Center, marked the International Youth Day in Gyumri, second largest city of Armenia. 
Partners held a press conference a day before the celebrations to present the various events that were planned for the Day.
The first in the series of events was Youth Camp organized at Gyumri Technology Center. It was running parallel in a number of rooms and covered a variety of topics including "Don't eat marshmallows", "Learn how to learn", "Work for four hours and earn money", "How to be a specialist in demand", et cetera.  
Next there was a dance flash mob on theatre square with participation around 100 young people. 
In the evening celebrations continued with a show preceded by youth song contest awards ceremony. The contest was announced in anticipation of the International Youth Day. 
The first prize went to Hayk Pijoyan from Gyumri for the song "Blind Knife", with a possibility to studio record it. The second prize went to Naira Paronikyan's song devoted to the power of song. And the third prize went to Victoria Baghdasaryan for her song "Addict". The prize for social media sympathy went to Alvina Hambardzumyan with her song "Where are they, motherland?" performed by Gohar Nikoghosyan.
The awards ceremony was followed by a concert by "Armineh Kocharyan and Friends" band.
During the concert break another award was presented to the most Awesome project for Shirak marz. The awards was implemented together with Awesome Foundation Yerevan. The winner was Arsen Vardanyan with his project of "Wall of Jokes" for Gyumri. 
After the concert hot air baloons were set off signifying the completion of the Day.
