Launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence Campaign

UN RC Bradley Busetto reads the joint message for the Day

On November 25, 2016, the international community, including Council of Europe Office in Yerevan, EU Delegation in Armenia, OSCE Office in Yerevan, United Nations in Armenia, UK Embassy in Armenia, USAID Mission in Armenia, together with the Government of Armenia hosted a press briefing to mark the start of the International 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence campaign. 

United Nations Resident Coordinator Bradley Busetto read for the audience the joint message of Council of Europe Office in Yerevan, OSCE Office in Yerevan, United Nations in Armenia, UK Embassy in Armenia, US Embassy in Armenia issued on this occasion.

UNFPA presented the findings of the Men and Gender Eqaulity that were related to gender-based violence. Mrs. Jina Sargizova and Mr. Vladimir Osipov, UNFPA experts, made the presentation.

The survey presentation was followed by a presentation of the Draft Law on Domestic Violence by Mr. Bagrat Ghazinyan, Ministry of Justice. Ms. Armine Tanashyan, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, made an update on the Status of the National Gender Framework for 2017-2021.
