The network of institutions dealing with issues of social protection and care for the older people is actively engaged in discussing current and upcoming programs and activities aimed at the displaced older people.

The goal is to address their needs and ensure their well-being. During a recent session, Tsovinar Harutyunyan, the head of the UNFPA Armenia country office, emphasized the importance of using the platform to raise resources and encouraged collaboration among network members for joint actions and resource mobilization.

Hayk Harutyunyan, the head of the Department of Older People Issues of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, presented to members of the network the government plan for allocation of grants in 2024. This demonstrates the government's commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit the older people.

The network, in partnership with the state, will continue to work towards the protection and well-being of both local and displaced older people. By addressing their basic needs and ensuring their rights are met, the network aims to improve their quality of life and provide them with the care and support they require. The collaborative efforts between the network and the state reflect a strong commitment to older people care and social protection in Armenia.

The meeting was supported by CISPop “Better Data for Better Policies” regional project supported by the Russian Federation to strengthen population data collection, analysis and utilization for evidence-based policy-making in the CIS region.
