On October 1, 2015, UNFPA Armenia held a press conference devoted to the International Day of Older Persons. The press conference had three speakers: Ms. Anna Hovhannisyan, Coordinator for UNFPA Armenia “Support to Implementation of Population Policies” Project, Ms. Karine Kuyumjyan, ‎Head of Population Census and Demography Unit at the National Statistical Service of Armenia, and Ms. Anahit Gevorgyan, Deputy Head of Department for Disabled and Elderly Issues, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

The speakers presented current data on ageing and elderly population in the country, situation with services provided to elderly people in Armenia, as well as the new UNFPA/Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs survey in the nursing homes about the children of their inhabitants.
