On 28 March 2013 2013, UNFPA Armenia Country Office held a round table discussion devoted to "Reproductive health commodity security: opportunities for the “Total Market Approach ” adaptation in Armenia". The round table discussion was attended by around 20 representatives from the RA Government, international donor community, NGO as well as private sector.

A total market approach (TMA, also known as a whole market approach) brings together the public sector and the private sector (social marketing groups, NGOs, and commercial organizations) in a coordinated effort—as part of one total “market”—to target those segments of the population they are best suited to serve.

During the meeting, Ms. Mary Khachikyan, Executive Director of Pan-Armenian Family Health Association, presented the role of private and NGO sectors’ role in ensuring reproductive health commodity security.

Mr. Ezizgeldi Hellenov, UNFPA Reproductive Health Commodity Security (RHCS) Regional Advisor, made a presentation on UNFPA RHCS programming and approach for Total Market Approach, which was followed by an discussion of the presented ideas and steps forward.
