Twenty five women from Berd, Vanadzor, Gyumri, Goris and Kapan cities of Armenia now are more knowledgeable on social entrepreneurship due to the training course conducted on 3-5 July in Gyumri, Armenia..
Skills and knowledge acquired during the course on Social Business Modeling are another brick for the women to become more ready to found social businesses in their respective centers in future.
“If you asked for my advice – it would be – dream big. Dream and turn your dreams into practical plans, and join your efforts to bring those plans into life. We are here to support you in this exciting journey,” Lusine Sargsyan, UNFPA Armenia Gender Analyst welcomed the participants.
This was the continuation of the training organized earlier in Goris with participation of the members of women resource centers in four marzes of Armenia - WINNET Berd, WINNET Vanadzor, WINNET Goris, WINNET Kapan, and initiative group from Gyumri (soon to be WINNET Gyumri).
The trainers of the course – Irina Pahlevanyan and Silva Mesroyan presented a wide range of topics starting from idea generation, validation and research to the business model canvas, customer segmentation and pitching. The presentations by the trainers were followed by brainstorming and group work to enable the participants to turn the information into knowledge.
Irina Yolyan, the deputy mayor of Goris and a member of the Winnet Goris, shared her success story with the participants. “The women were very inspired by her story. Overall I can state that the training was productive, the participants were unanimous that the course was practical and useful and they were eager to participate in the next course,” Eduard Israyelyan, UNFPA Armenia Project Manager says.
The next part of the training is planned for the end of July.
