An interactive discussion was held with the participation of more than 100 students of Eurasia International University on equal opportunities, overcoming gender stereotypes and creating more inclusive environment.

During the meeting Zaruhi Tonoyan, UNFPA project coordinator, and Karen Ayvazyan program manager of OxYGen Foundation delivered welcoming remarks.

During the meeting the participants had an opportunity to test their knowledge on gender equality through interactive quiz-game. As a result, 9 participants received small prizes among which was also the book "50 women with disabilities that changed the world".

The participants had an opportunity to see “100 years later” play performed by Nairyan vocal ensemble. The play presents 5 prominent Armenian women from 20th century: Parliament members of first republic: Varvara-Varya Sahakyan, Katarine Zalyan-Manukyan, Perchuhi Partizpanyan-Barseghyan, as well as writers, public-political figures: Zapel Yesayan and Shushanik Kurghinyan.

The event was initiated by UNFPA, OxYGen Foundation, Mughdusyan Art Centre and Eurasia International University within the framework of “Addressing Gender-Biased Sex Selection and Related Harmful Practices in the South Caucasus: Support for Regional, National and South-South Interventions” project. The project is implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in cooperation with the OxYGen Foundation, and is funded by the European Union and UNFPA.
